#WeightAndWeightMethod8 LINE UP FOR KILLING OPERATION & PROCESS SUMMARY ✓ Check that if the mud pump to be used are lined up to the mud tank in which kill mud is being prepared ✓ Check for line up for mud pump to drill string ✓ Check for line up of choke to MGS & Waste Pit (should be as per requirement, generally line to MGS is kept in Open & line to waste is kept closed) • We start start pump, • pump kill mud into drill string, • kill mud will travel through drill string, • kill mud will come out of bit, • kill mud will enter annulus, • kill mud entering annulus will lift up the kick along with it, • kill mud will travel upward in the annulus lifting up the kick, • as kick is lifted, mud above will be unloaded through choke manifold - MGS - Tank • Once a situation will come when kick will be at surface & ready to exit the wellbore • kick will enter choke line, travel through high pressure line connecting choke line to choke manifold, come out of choke and will be disposed to waste pit. • When the kick is out of wellbore, kill mud will start coming out of choke to waste pit. • stop line to waste pit and divert flow through MGS to shale shaker tank. • Stop the Pump • Record SICP & SIDPP • Now, SICP & SIDPP should be zero • If SICP = SIDPP = 0, the well has been successfully killed. Now, we shall discuss the steps involved in Wait & Weight Method.
