“Weird Al” Yankovic won’t be performing at halftime of this - TopicsExpress

“Weird Al” Yankovic won’t be performing at halftime of this year’s Super Bowl, despite a petition calling for the NFL to book him. Maybe he never really wanted to anyway. We’ll probably never know. However, if there was any disappointment, “Weird Al” is going to console himself with a massive (82 shows!) world tour. Beginning on May 12 with a five-night run in Las Vegas, Yankovic is taking his act all over this country and Canada. He’s a man of the people, because judging from his tour stops, he’s giving just about everyone everywhere an opportunity to see him in concert. And when he’s done with North America, “Weird Al” is hitting Sweden, Denmark, London and Ireland. Australia and New Zealand will also be on The Mandatory World Tour, though those dates have not yet been announced. Last year, “Weird Al” hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts for the first time with his album Mandatory Fun. He also released eight music videos for parodies such as “Tacky,” “Foil” and “Word Crimes,” making 2014 a celebration of his 30-year career. Obviously, the fun is going to continue in 2015. You can see all of the current tour dates at “Weird Al’s” website. Ticket pre-sales for the North America shows begin on Jan. 27. https://youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=x18PM0DaDL4
