~~~~~~ Well, hello Facebook! lol I have been M.I.A. for awhile...... New Years really hit our home with a BANG (and not in a good way :/ ) With my knees getting worse, much to my chagrin, it has been harder and taking me longer to do things that were routine and I took for granted...... New Years was a flurry of activity with the preparation for a huge turkey dinner, traditional pigs feet/pork meatball ragout, ham, meat pies etc etc. It is always difficult to accommodate our every expanding family into our tiny dining room..... (I want to thank all of you for your help, I truly appreciate it, you too, Grandfajah !! ) By the time I sat down to eat ( 2nd shift, of course ;) ) , I was so exhausted and anticipating an early night to the festivities, which is quite unusual because I love having family over especially getting to see all 4 grandchildren together. By the time everyone left I started feeling achy and cold and figured, thats it....I will call it a night. By the time I woke up every bone in my body ached (so much so everytime Rocky wanted to put his paw on me it felt like I was being hit in the leg with a sledge hammer :( ), I had chillls, you know when your body is just cold from the inside, a dry hacking cough etc. and over all just drained. Fast forward to Day 4 (Sunday) of spending the majority of the time in bed and lo and behold we had a mini ice storm in which we were without power for at least 12hours. ( Needless to say, as I watched one of my favorite shows (Downton Abby) I so wished I could have jumped into the T.V. to be served a nic hot bowl of chicken soup by my own nursemaid....lol ;) ) Meanwhile though, through all this my hubby had been sleeping downstairs because he did not want to catch my flu , as a diabetic he seems to have a lower resistance which is usually why it usually hits him worse and more often..........well can you all guess what happened yesterday (seeing as its after midnight here ;) ) ?? Thats right it has hit Hubby like a bulldozer :( I am hoping to see a little glimmer tomorrow, well, enough strength anyway to make both of us some much needed turkey (lol) or chicken soup !! A word of caution, this is a nasty one..........Hubby even noted how it had been years since he saw ME get it this bad....... take care all.....as we are working on our 6/7 th day.....I will once again try to be optimistic and again wish everyone all the best of HEALTH and happiness for the new year. P.S. Father Time, this is sooooo not funny :P
