What I am about to write will shock you.Kindly do not share my name or contact details with anyone please? We have known her for about 15 years now.Her children grew up infront of me.Her current so called husband we have only known for about 6 years. Some facts about them and Kaia Praia These people are bad bad news. They just keep getting away with murder because they have the local chiefs in the pocket.I.e. chief Jose and Chief Fernando. I have no vendetta against the man these are facts The entire project is illegal I was there the day tourism came to close them down.Seemingly they just carry on as normal.The way to do this is apparently to get a temp permit allowing guests to stay over? They do not comply with standard electricity compliance as he rigged most of the wiring himself. They do not comply with standard plumbing and the water supply is not adequate and is a self rigged system His house is an illegal structure as it is built to close to water mark and does not fit with local building regulations He was apparently not allowed to build permanent structures of which there are accommodation units built with cement and concrete and bricks The restaurant is operating illegally although he claims it is for guests only They sell liquor to guests therefore trading as a bar without a license They do not comply with local labour laws as the remaining staff are underpaid when or if they get paid at all They employed illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe in the past I dont know if this is still the case? The remaining staff are not registered for current benefits although he takes money from the salaries every month I have it on good authority that he is hiding in Mozambique from the taxman in South Africa Apparently they are now advocating that they have received the Dier allowing them permanent residence? The have managed to corrupt the entire system by paying hefty bribes to officials in Xai Xai and Maputo He spent time in local prison for assault a few times also for malicious damage to property He was charged for fraud and theft relating to the purchase of the land where kia pria is standing No one is blinking an eye as he just continues doing this as he pays his way in bribes to the right people He owes tax of many many thousands in South Africa and has been hiding in Mozambique The whole story started about almost three years ago now.I was running a successful restaurant in South Africa. They approached us to come and build and then run the lodge We left and sold everything including our fully paid car as we could not use it on the sand. For the first six months it was ok In this time we found that the entire project was illegal He had no right to employ us For 18 months after that it was hell on earth 18 months of being constantly belittled and bullied and basicaly we were stuck there and he knew it so played it out fully to his advantage She was constantly intoxicated with sleeping tablets or went on drinking binges soiling her bedding my partner had to clean as my partner was to embarrassed to get the staff to do it He has a very nasty God complex and never listens to good reasoning always following his own head and paying a hefty price for it. He runs the place like Hitler and drives fear into everyone although he is a meaningless weak character one on one in person He buys his way around everyone and everything including the local chiefs Jose and Fernando and also pays money to other chiefs including the political chiefs in Xai Xai In the end he owed us about 30 000 Rand in outstanding salaries After a major fall out about this and then accusing my partner of theft allegations found to be entirely false by Moz authorities and cooked because we were pressing him for the outstanding money.He had her falsely arrested infront of her entire family that came to holiday at the lodge.She was driven away under police guard with AK47.Fortunately the police were very profesional in dealing with this as apparently he pulled the exact same stunt with other local villagers a few times in the past.As soon as people press them for outstanding money they quickly run to the police with trumped up charges.Ask some of the local people if you dont believe me its a well known fact in Nhabanga He does everyone in with money The local builder Aaron will be testament to this depending if he has now been paid ofcourse At the last count he still owed Aaron thousands We ended up stranded in Mozambique with no money no place to live no petrol in my vehicle Some South African people close by let us stay on their veranda for a month I trust the day will not arrive when I get to see him alone So believe me Carlos if anyone has reason to despise them it is us Before we left South Africa for Mozambique we had an extensive meeting with them.They painted such a idealistic picture and offered us shares in the business etc All of this lies and more lies They claimed the entire project was legal and therefore we could continue with building the lodge Lies lies lies Regards and kindly keep me updated
