...What if fraternities and sororities on every campus replaced hazing with making pledges to create or start a business before becoming a member of their organization? What if all those weeks and months of pledging and wasteful amounts of money spent on idiotic demands, could go toward investing in something that brought back a real monetary return? Just to be clear, I am in no way being hypocritical or “Holier than thou” because I am a member of a fraternity and I have been hazed, and I have hazed others, so I speak from experience on both sides. My premise is to merely make the pledging experience more useful and make neophytes more productive when they finally receive their letters. The fraternities and sororities could easily become mass producers of young African American business owners and creators...
