“Whatever deity guides my life, Dear lord, don’t let me die - TopicsExpress

“Whatever deity guides my life, Dear lord, don’t let me die tonight." These were the words of the lead character in a movie we watched on DVD the other night, which Jun said were borrowed from Jay-Z’s song “Don’t Let me Die.” The first line readily reminded me of the Apostle Paul’s address to the idol-worshipping Athenians in Acts 17:16-31, who built one altar with the inscription “to the unknown god.” Dear friends, do you have a name for your god? Or do you just refer to him as the “one up there?” True, we may have a lot of religion, and a lot of head knowledge even of God’s Only Son who died for a repentant sinner’s redemption – we may even say we have always believed in him and that we have been going to a church building regularly to worship him, and that we even pray supposedly to him – but do we really know Him – personally as our Lord and Saviour – or put the proper way: does He know us the way “knowing” was used in His Word. Inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, the Apostle Paul, referring to JESUS CHRIST, said in Acts 4:12, “AND THERE IS SALVATION IN NO ONE ELSE. FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED.”
