“When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret.” -- Shannon L. Alder Ever attempt to enter into what your know will be a difficult conversation? It can be scary and daunting! It is our goal to help you begin a conversation that can be very scary...yet very rewarding. We, at Girdner Funeral Chapel, in conjunction with Madrone Hospice, Inc., will be launching a new campaign called Have the Talk of a Lifetime. This campaign is put on by FAMIC (Funeral and Memorial Information Council), and is a nationwide effort to get people talking...about their lives, about their memories, people and events they have been influenced by, etc. When was the last time you sat down with your parents or grandparents and asked them about their favorite schoolteacher? Their first job? Their most memorable summer? These important life events will only be told to and carried on by the next generation if we open up the conversation now and get to talking! There is a lot to talk about: family, friends, hopes, dreams, accomplishments, talents, pleasures, values, little details, and big events! Girdner Funeral Chapel and Madrone Hospice, Inc. will be hosting a public Have the Talk of a Lifetime Seminar on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Miners Inn Convention Center, with the goal to motivate people to talk about life and what matters to them. We invite you all to join us there. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. We know its important to preserve your familys rich heritage for future generations...starting the Talk of a Lifetime can be very rich and rewarding! Stay tuned for more on Have the Talk of a Lifetime, including event updates, stories, and more! From those of us at GFC, have a great weekend, and a Happy Easter!
