“While Ferguson Is Still Burning” The police shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO and the failure of the St Louis Co Grand Jury to indict Officer Darren Wilson have resulted in violent protests. Though it is probably a mistake to make any individual the face of racial violence, as either the victim or the perpetrator. However, racism is real and it is resulting in unjust police violence against young black men that is only a part of the fabric of unjust treatment in the court system, in education, in hiring and in housing. People of faith cannot pretend that racism is a part of the past and we must not stand idly by.
