“Whoever neglects and disregards educating his child that which will benefit him and leaves him to wander about with no direction has indeed wronged him in the worst way. The majority of childrens corruption has come by way of their fathers abandoning and disregarding them along with not teaching them the mandatory and voluntary matters of the religion. Therefore they neglected them while they were young, thus they didn’t gain any benefit for themselves nor did their fathers gain benefit from them when they grew up.” Al-Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him.
