****************************Wind storm!****************************** For those that have never been through a Windbey Island wind storm... welcome to the show. The skinny: Strong sustained winds of 30-35mph from the south will be the highlight through midnight. When we wake up in the morning, even stronger winds with stronger gust of 37mph sustained, 60mph gusts! The other aspect of this wind storm is how long these strong winds will last. Most models have this wind storm lasting about 24 hours (starting around 8pm tonight (at around 30mph) and ending tomorrow night at 8pm. On top of that, some models have the strong winds listed above, 37mph sustained winds lasting for a full 10 hours. One model has lesser winds at about 25mph sustained but lasting for a full 15 hours. To confuse things even further, NAS Whidbey Island issued a wind advisory for wind speeds listed above, but lasting from 8pm tonight to 1pm tomorrow where as the NWS (the government group responsible for issuing alerts to the public) has the lesser wind speeds, south 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, and ending by 11am tomorrow. In either account, the winds will be strong and stronger when we wake up in the morning. Again, for those that have not had the chance to enjoy our wind storms... this is just one of many until .... next march? :)
