✳✳ Winter storm update ✳✳ As of 7:30 am...snow is starting to push into far southwestern Maine this morning. This is associated with a low pressure system that is currently just off the Delmarva coast. The snow will continue to spread northeast through the day today as the low moves toward Nova Scotia. We still expect interior sections of Downeast Maine to see the heaviest snow from this storm. There will be a very tight snowfall gradient, so far northern and northwestern areas will likely see little to no snow from this system. Much of east central and Downeast Maine are currently under Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories. If you live in these areas, be prepared for a period of heavy snow late this afternoon into the evening, especially across Washington and Hancock Counties. Gusty north winds could result in areas of blowing snow, as well. Travel will likely become difficult later today into tonight. Please be sure to send us snow reports as the storm progresses. This helps us greatly to make sure our forecast is on track. As always, you can see our full forecast at weather.gov/car. Thank you and have a good day!
