. With the baseball season winding down, I thought this story would be relevant. This story concerns a pitcher by the name of Milt Famy. Milt was a notorious drinker and when he was not scheduled to pitch, he would usually start drinking in the club house during the game. After pitching the sixth game of the World Series, he was not expecting to see action in the next game. The next day, In the seventh game of the World Series, the manager called for Milt to pitch in relief. The bases were loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the score was tied. As Famy entered the game, he sat his can of beer on the top of the dugout. Famy warmed up and threw 4 consecutive balls, walking in the winning run. During the postgame celebration, one of the opposing players pointed out the beer can and shouted, “Look, There’s the beer that made Milt Famy walk us.
