"World War Z" - For a film that ran into severe production troubles, "World War Z" turned out to be a really well made film. The pacing is taut, zombie-encounter scenes intense and the Marc Forster/Damon Lindelof team manages to put a fresh spin on the genre, loosely based on the Max Brooks novel of the same name. The film treats the zombie apocalypse as a contagion to be fought and contained dispassionately never resorting to the hackneyed survival theme. The soundtrack by Matt Bellamy of "Muse" is hauntingly beautiful. As for the visuals, they are spectacular thanks to some tasteful CGI wizardly, and the 3D certainly adds value in this case. A thoroughly entertaining film. 7.5/10
