#WorldCupSpecial 5 REASONS WHY SPAIN WILL NOT WIN THE WORLD CUP; With the 2014 fifa world cup barely 2weeks from now, soccer loving fans all over the world are eager to see what all 32teams will bring to the party this summer, Defending Champions SPAIN have been tipped to conquer the world again by many across the globe but below are 5 concrete reasons why it looks uncertain... 1.) SPAIN IS BARCELONA: It is crystal clear that the dominance of Barcelona is over, lets not deceive ourselves. The success of the spanish national side was the shadow of FC Barcelona with almost half of the national team squad plying their trade with the Catalan giants. The world has seen how to curb the so called Tiki-Taka style and if youve noticed, they never have a plan B. No tiki-taka! No game plan for SPAIN. 2.) LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS: Xavi (33) Iniesta (30) Villa (33) to a large extent carried the team all the way in the 2010 world cup, today Xavi is a shadow of himself, contemplating a move to the MLS, Iniesta is gradually losing it and Villa has lost his scoring boots. It is safe to say that the level of creativity has drastically reduced in all these 3players. 3.) WHERE IS THE STRIKER? Fernando Llorente may have scored plenty of goals with scudetto winning Juventus but he definitely wouldnt do same with his national side owing to the contrasting styles of play, Torres on the other hand fires blank and plays the grass these days when he is on the field of play and it is obvious it will remain so till his career comes to an end, Alvaro Negredo has seen his play time hampered by injuries and doesnt look like the BEAST he was few seasons ago with Sevilla, same goes for Pedro who has been relegated to the bench at Barcelona since the arrival of Neymar. The best option will be most likely Diego COSTA, but with the Brazilian born injury prone and gradually finding his rhythm, it is going to take a long while for him to settle down with the national side. 4.) UNUSUAL FACES: In the past few years we saw more players from Barcelona and Real Madrid with barely 20% or less making up players from other clubs but this time the emergence of Atletico Madrid has seen the likes of KOKE, ITURRASPE, COSTA and a whole lot of players from different clubs make the team, this may be to the detriment of Vincente Del Bosques army but on the other side looks like a rebuilding process. 5.) SUSPICIOUS GOAL TENDERS: Iker Casillas is a legend, champions league winner and one of the most experienced goal keepers in world football, but in recent times he has stuttered and fumbled against set pieces. The champions league final error is a typical example, maybe lack of play time has allowed for a slight loss of form but you will be deceitful to say Iker is still the same man we used to know. Pepe Reina has had a rejuvenating season in the italian serie A but surely wouldnt stand between the sticks because of his past blunders and trademark school boy errors. It is obvious he is going to Brazil because of his great wealth of experience and nothing else. Yet to make his debut, David De Gea benefited from Victor Valdess injury and for that reason Alone he has been included, but at 23 and after having a season of ups and downs with Manchester United, he wouldnt be in the right frame of mind to hold his own at the biggest stage.
