The Church tells us that Jesus died on a Friday and was resurrected on the third day, though if he died at approximately 3:00PM on Friday afternoon and was raised up early on the Sunday morning, that is less than two days counting in hours; i.e., part of Friday, all of Saturday which was the Jewish Sabbath and only part of Sunday morning which was the first day of the week. (A new day started at sunset then.) “That partly covers the three days as he was dead on the Friday afternoon, all of Saturday and part of Sunday morning, but the time frame only covers two nights. Jesus himself prophesied he was to be ‘in the heart of the earth’ for three days and three nights,4 and some academics are now putting forward the idea that the Crucifixion may have taken place a day earlier than at first thought. “If Jesus was to be crucified and buried before the Passover began that means he may have been Crucified on a Thursday afternoon before this special annual Passover began, rather than the Friday afternoon we call Good Friday, and this seems the easiest and most logical way to explain the three days and three nights ‘in the heart of the earth’ as foretold. “Was Jesus actually crucified on a Thursday afternoon, fulfilling the prophecy of three days and three nights in the heart of the earth? 4 (Matthew 12:40) �0 “According to the Law of Moses every Passover is followed by a Sabbath day of rest no matter what day of the week it falls on. For example, if the Passover falls on a Saturday the special Passover Sabbath would fall the next day on the Sunday; so the Sabbath for that Passover would be on the Sunday. “And If Jesus was resurrected on this Sunday morning it was also a very special day for the Jews, being their Passover Sabbath.” “Lee, my Son died on the Cross on the Friday which is now considered by those who read the records as day one of death and Saturday, normally the Jewish Sabbath as day two of death and Sunday as the third day of death. “And the majority of people at that time counted sundown in the evening of the preceding day they were in as the starting point of a new day, and therefore today it is taken by many people that the three days spoken of in the prophecy were fulfilled. “However, my Son died in the afternoon on the Friday which was just prior to the normal Jewish Sabbath which started at sundown that day. As the Passover also fell on Saturday which was the Sabbath, another special Sabbath [the first day of the feast of unleavened bread] was held on the Sunday. “And my Son arose the morning after the Sunday Sabbath which made it a matter of three days that he was in my house with me.” “So, Yahweh, this is where the discrepancy comes into it… Jesus �1 used the sign of Jonah, of being three days and three nights in the belly of a whale as a prophecy to the scribes and Pharisees of being in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. “And all the other parables only mention three days, so the early church regarded the sign of Jonah as allegorical and only counted three days, when in fact three days and nights from the Friday take us to the Monday.” “Lee, let me remind you that the Jewish people held this Sabbath day in high esteem for the reason of the feast of unleavened bread which was a solemn time, and they took it with the Passover feast as the beginning of a good year, and it was this that prompted the early Church to first consider Sunday worship.” “Did the Christian church later establish having their Sabbath day on Sunday rather than Saturday out of respect for the resurrection of your Son as well, Yahweh?” “This is truly the reason that Sunday is now the Christian day of worship rather than the Jewish Sabbath, and it is now thought by all Christendom that he rose on the Sunday morning. “And my church of Christ now believes it is best to leave Sunday worship as it stands and not antagonize those who are involved in worshipping my Son, as he does not worry on which day you worship. “And all the holiday festivals around this time are to be included in �2 the time-frame for church services to be held, and placed in the minds of all to be remembered as the day of days, not the holiday of Easter but the holidays of Easter which include the Monday. “Let me remind you too that after the Sunday Sabbath, this special Sabbath due to the annual Passover, my Son was resurrected the morning after, and this is the way to read it purely for the records. “And this explains the three nights well enough for anyone to understand it, if they did not think he was in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights, whichever way you look at it. “Read the scriptures properly and it plainly states that Jesus rose the morning after the Sabbath, and that Sabbath was the Sunday Sabbath and that Sunday Sabbath was an extra Sabbath.” “So, that means Jesus was actually dead and buried in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights, fulfilling the prophecy?” “Yes Lee, my Son had a habit of ignoring Jewish protocol and breaking the rules.
