You know what grinds my gears? When fitness professionals, or - TopicsExpress

You know what grinds my gears? When fitness professionals, or people related to the fitness industry, are openly hostile towards the very type of people theyre supposed to be helping. I knew a client who intimated to me that she didnt like personal trainers after her first attempt with a personal trainer had ended when the guy essentially led her to the squat rack and forced her to squat over and over for an hour, ignoring her protestations to the contrary. What the hell? Have we really reached a point at which this industry has decided that actively treating our clients like babies is what were supposed to be doing? Worse, to a certain extent, are the people who dont work in the fitness industry but love to keyboard warrior left and right all over the people who do, in the meantime talking major crap about anyone who isnt in perfect shape. Fat activism may seem a little weird to us but at least it isnt actively toxic, which is what these guys are like 500% of the time. These are the people whore in great shape and find this the perfect reason to shit all over everyone who isnt. Literally, what do you think youre accomplishing, besides proving that youre an asshat? Endless macho posturing isnt going to get anything done. The fitness industry SHOULD be about empowerment - empowerment to be who you want to be, whether thats bigger or smaller or anything in between. It should be about helping others to succeed at the same time that youre improving yourself. It should be about 9000 pound deadlifts for everybody. tl;dr Im a whiny baby fitness communist come at me bro okay Im gonna go eat taco bell now and cry manly tears.
