~ a more mature, well-travelled, seen the world with its ups & downs vocal from Dougie on this re-release of Caledonia...the instrumental too, feels and sounds heartwarming and takes you on a voyage.. Love it !! We all love this song since it first seeped into the air of Scotland, it has become somewhat an anthem fundamentally for the real Scot, the hard grafter, the socialist, the nationalist, and for those overseas too of course...in dougies voice you can hear that passage of time, and the song brings us all to a different atmosphere, meaning and presence, more reflective perhaps. The song feels more of him now than before, but I dare say in a few years Ill say it suits him better then..lol. Like all good songs, it shld resonate in youth, middle age and in your dotage, having different meanings, reflections, aspirations or actions at each stage...
