...and Im not even a fan of his, but need to admit that he REALLY nails it here! You cannot claim to be a Christian & then rejoice over injustice [or make excuses for it, aye?] or the misfortune of others! He VERY rightfully says that Gandhi could be MORE like a follower of Jesus than most Christians today. Loving your neighbor is NOT optional and violence is [actually] NEVER justified...and politicizing of religion/faith is the worst thing that could ever happen in such context. You may make a bad decision as a leader, but that does not mean you have a right to call it Biblical just because youre a Christian. We make mistakes; were humans. Yet, as Christians, we have one command; ONE simple command in the Bible, which is the very center of the whole teaching....a call to #LOVE! We are all work in progress [clearly I am], but our weaknesses as human beings, our failures, should not give us a right to redefine the nature & scope of this love. It is not exclusive or partial; it is not blind to justice, but sees it through grace...and as hard as it may seem, love thy enemies is pretty much a command. Follow it, yo! #BillMaher #Christianity
