“and he has blessed you. Not only do you have faith in Christ, but you suffer for him.” (Philippians 1:29 – Contemporary English Version) I recognize that this idea goes against the dominate view of our culture, but it may be privilege to suffer with Christ. We generally look for ways to avoid things that are unpleasant, and often we expect God to save us from all problems and pain. When we do things that reflect God’s love, we might face opposition, even persecution. I think we need to remember that when we stand up for God, we’re not standing alone.
