#bigwet - Wet weather update from Moreton Bay Regional Council Moreton Bay Region rainfall storms update Up to 140 mm of rainfall has fallen across the Moreton Bay Region in the past 24 hours, including: • 138mm – Caboolture • 121mm – Moorina • 120mm – Elimbah • 104mm – Everton Hills • 100mm – Deception Bay • 92mm – Dayboro • 95mm – Strathpine • 94mm – Toorbul • 91mm – Morayfield • 89mm – Clontarf Moreton Bay Regional Council will continue to monitor local weather conditions with further widespread rainfall between 50mm and 100mm and the potential for some flash-flooding expected across South-East Queensland this evening, and easing into tomorrow morning. Road Closures Currently two local roads are closed in the Moreton Bay Region, including: • Mott Street, Strathpine • Whiteside Road, Whiteside With plenty of wet roads across the region, council is urging motorists to slow down and drive to the conditions. To monitor your local road conditions visit - moretonbay.qld.gov.au/roadconditions Sandbags If you’re concerned about possible flash-flooding around your property, council provides sand and sandbags at the following locations: • Arana Hills SES - 2 Pine Hills Drive, off Jinker Track • Beachmere - Rogers Street Sports Ground • Bribie Island SES - 208-224 First Avenue • Narangba – Oakey Flat Road (between Raynbird Road roundabout and Sovereign Drive roundabout • Caboolture Council Depot - corner of Commercial Drive & Machinery Parade • Deception Bay Council Depot carpark - Old Bay Road • Elimbah – Coronation Drive (opposite the church in the median strip) • Petrie SES - 3 Woonara Drive • Redcliffe SES - 42 Portwood Street • Woodford Council Depot - Mary Street or Woodford Memorial Hall (rear car park) Please note these are sandbag supply locations only. You will need to bring a shovel to fill your own sandbags.
