[dont ask why you dont succeed - ask why you dont fail fast enough... recommended reading ;)] A lot of people blame their failures on not being at the right place at the right time, or they say Wow I wish I would have known about this XYZ years ago! My oh my how things would be different!. Truth is they wouldnt have been any different. So many people spend their time examining success. Reading books, writing out goals, networking... Yet they still sit around wondering WHY they havent had a breakthrough yet. All those things are great - and theres no getting around the fact that to add value (aka sell something) you have to have some value to give. The problem comes in when you focus 80% of your time on RESEARCH and 20% of your time on DOING. (or maybe less) Actually at even 20% doing, youd probably be kicking rear. Most people just dont create, produce, or do anything. They move things around, write things down, but dont actually create anything of value. And they wonder why youre not reaching your goals... Well heres the deal. Todays the day you need to stop worrying about WHAT to do, and start executing. even if youre at 99% not doing phase, jumping to 10%, then 20%, then 50%, then 80%. I bet if it was quantifiable youd see the Mark Zuckerbergs, Warren Buffetts, and Mark Cubans of the world in the 90% execution bracket... its time to start heading in that direction. Whats the first step? Stop analyzing WHAT to do, and focus on WHY. You probably think about your why a lot, its called day dreaming... More time with the family, less time with crappy bosses, that lambo, the beaches, or if youre like me - you just want to work with who you want when you want how you want... Thats why I do what I do, because I dont really like working with and for things I dont like. Next step is to pick a path others have succeed on. Warren Buffet didnt invent investing, if youre not succeeding yet, dont try and INVENT anything (not just yet). You have to taste success, feel a win, before you should focus on innovation. After you feel that first win, and have a foundation, thats when its time to innovate. So dont invent, use something you know succeeds as the foundation, and work with people who you know are succeeding. How do you know which path to emulate? Well look at the people who took it, what was their results, and was their overhead (time/money) the same as yours?
