{events of my time} THE ADAMAWA LAW BREAKERS If truly the primary assignment of Government at all levels is to protect the People’s lives and property, cater for their welfare and accord such task the highest priority, then why this desperate move by the Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly to ‘IMPEACH’ Governor Murtala Nyako and his Deputy? In this most critical time where all the States in the North-Eastern Geo-political Zone are already facing serious ‘Security Challenges,’ what will it benefit them and the State if the outspoken Governor is impeached? Sincerely speaking, I do not really see anything sensible in the recent development in Adamawa State House of Assembly, where those Law Makers-turned-Law Breakers overnight, engaged themselves in a shameful and dishonourable bid to satisfy their selfish desires and that of some disgruntled Political Cockroaches from the North who often refer to themselves as Abuja-Based Political Warlords by shamelessly flirting around Presidency. The present scenario has made me to agree with the Media Analysis that; ‘this Festering Rift between Governor Inyako and the Law Breakers, provides a fertile ground for the PDP-controlled Presidency to take its pound of fresh from Nyako who has had a running battle with the Presidency.’ The Analysis further revealed that the Crisis of Confidence (as the Law Breakers claim) between them and the Governor involves more issues than what most of the actors are willing to make public. According to Press Report on the Statistics of the Boko Haram Victims, close to Four Million (4000000) People from the North-East have been so far displaced due to the activities of the Insurgency rocking the zone. Virtually all the displaced Victims have become REFUGEES in and outside their own Country, hence their vulnerability to all sort of dehumanizing things around the Eastern and South-Southern Nigeria. Is that calamitous situation not enough reason for the ‘Adamawa Law Breakers’ to exercise gumption and retrain from their egocentric desire to worsen the fragile security situation in the State which will not do anyone good at the end of the day? Why can they not exercise such desperate energy and commitment on addressing various accusations of unprofessional handling of the security situations leveled against the Security Operatives in the State in particular instead of wasting that on aggravating the Sufferings of the Innocent People that freely gave them their Mandate in the first place? Our main concern here, honestly, is not to exonerate the Governor from any ‘Wrong-doing,’ no! but to basically juxtapose the Real FEELINGS of the Innocent People of Adamawa with the True reflection of their actions (the law breakers). This tragic moment in Adamawa State sharply reminds me of Chief Obasanjo’s Era with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the Vice President around 2002 towards the end of their first tenure in Office; there was this powerful, gallant and outspoken Emir of Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State, Alhaji Haruna Al-Mustafa Jakolo who made bold to challenge President Obasanjo then over what he called Systematic Marginalization of the North and its People, which was very glaring then but no one could speak out, Atiku softened the ground for Chief Obasanjo to deal decisively with the Emir hoping that such ‘political extreme loyalty’ will make his succession bid possible . His Royal Highness, Emir Jokolo was dethroned almost immediately and sent on exile in a very remote place in Nassarawa State, just to punish him for being honest with his People. We are all living witness to what has politically befallen Alhaji Atiku from that moment till date. Where has that extreme loyalty to Obasanjo then landed him today despite his abundant wealth and might? Today, Atiku seems to be at the tail end of his political tunnel yet no sign of light; the farther he moves the darker the tunnel, and what do you call that type of predicament? NEMESIS, of course! What is even more embarrassing is the way most Northern Elders behave these days; so selfish, disorganized and also timid. Imagine the impressive way Yoruba Elders Gallantly fought for JUNE 12, such a bold and collective fight that eventually earned them Obasanjo’ smooth and uninterrupted beneficial ‘Eight Years Presidency.’ Haba! The Northern Elders of Alhaji Bamanga Tukurs, Our Babas Yakassai and Co……you are all celebrating GEJ’s Five Years of BLOODY NORTH to the detriment of Late Musa Yar’Adua’s frustrated Two and a half years Presidency which we have been compensated with TSUNAME of Terrorists Attacks? And the same group of Dramatic Elders in the North are still rooting for GEJ’s come back 2015 again? haba! Diaris God ooooo! We really miss great, and original Northern Elders like Alhaji Abdul-Raham Okene, Chief Sunday Awoniyi, Abubakar Rimi Kano, and Wada Nas etc, they would have gallantly and fearlessly fought for us in such a manner that will prove to the World and Nigerians why we have to accept in good fate the shedding of the innocent Blood of our greatest Heroes’ past (Ahmadu Bello & Tafawa Balewa) to keep the North and Nigeria together since 1966 to date. Now, Governor Murtala Nyako has spoken clear and loud through his timely MEMO to the highest governmental Authority in the North (the Northern Governors’ Forum), and ‘the powers that be’ have demanded for his HEAD at all cost using every possible means such as splashing part of the stolen 20Billion Oil Dollars on the Adamawa Law Breakers for the hurry-hurry Impeachment Assignment, using Soldiers to intimidate the Adamawa Chief Judge and so on, all with the ‘Order from Above,’ then let wait thereafter for Almighty God’s supreme Order and see how it works. Well by the time Nyako falls, certainly, many a big and bigger Political Irokos in the North may also fall in a more disgraceful style before, during and after 2015. For those who intentionally collaborate with the present Federal Government to destroy the NORTH for their selfish gains by whichever guise, will surely receive the worst of NEMESIS by the grace of Almighty God, it’s just a matter of time. THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!
