#finance: Belarus central bank sees ruble weakening 3-7 pct in 2015, projects single-digit inflation in Belarus in mid-term. According the yesterdays press release, published on the website of the National Bank of Belarus, its policy will be implemented in such a way so as to ensure financial stability and stable prices, simultaneously giving the economy the opportunity to quickly adapt and evolve in the new economic environment. The rate of inflation is projected to be reduced to a single-digit number in Belarus in the medium-term perspective. Earlier the Belarusian authorities had said inflation would fall to 12 percent this year from the 16 percent level reached at end-2014, but this forecast may now have to be revised, the bank said. In view of the sharp deterioration both in external markets and on the internal currency and deposit markets ... inflation forecasts will need to be adjusted, it said, without indicating what new level it expected. Ensuring price stability will be accompanied by the implementation a set of measures to de-dollarize the economy and increase populations confidence in the national currency.
