#freaky #accident KOTA SAMARAHAN: One man was killed while another was injured after the pair was believed to have been struck by lightning during a thunderstorm yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Alsaggof Sadi, a 35-year-old contract worker from Asajaya. The freak incident happened around 6.15pm when the victim and his friend Ismawi Razali, 35, stopped their motorcycle at a hut along the Kuching-Samarahan expressway to seek shelter from the heavy rain. The two men were said to have been waiting for the rain to peter out – with Alsaggof standing slightly outside of the hut – when tragedy befell. Passing motorists found the pair lying on the ground but were initially too afraid to approach them. After finally attending to the men, they found Alsaggof was already dead before rushing the still-breathing Ismawi to the nearby Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre. His immediate condition, however, was unclear. Police personnel were on hand to investigate the incident and later sent Alsaggof’s body to the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, where a post mortem is scheduled to be performed.
