from The Los Angeles Times, August 20, 1893. Reported is the unearthing of an ancient buried city. The above photo, courtesy of Greg Downing, is of the ancient Mayan city of Tikal in Guatemala. Guatemala is littered with such pyramids and stone cities, many yet to be discovered. The article reads, A buried city has just been discovered in Guatemala, upon the estate of Don Manuel J. Alvarado, at the foot of Volcan de Agua, about a mile and a half to the eastward of the present village of Santiago de los Caballeros...At a depth of on and a half meters the workmen came on the walls of the houses of the buried city. At a level of the floor of these they discovered a confused mass of human skeletons-some in sitting postures, some lying on their backs, some on their faces; some of the skeletons show the inhabitants to have been giants. The position of the skeletons and in fact, the whole condition of the ruins, point to the conclusion that the city was suddenly swallowed by an earthquake. This story was also reported in the Southland Times, August 17, 1893, the Newark Sunday Call, June 25, 1893, the Bay of Plenty Times, September 15, 1893, the Nelson Evening Mail, August 17, 1893 and the Theosophical Magazine of September 1893. Further details described many six foot seven skeletons being found, indicating an unusually tall race of people that was buried. As far as the site of the ancient city that was lost in an earthquake, the area is an extremely active seismic zone. On September 29, 1717, an estimated 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Antigua and the Volcan de Agua Guatemala, and destroyed over 3,000 buildings. Much of the city’s architecture was ruined. The damage the earthquake did to the city made authorities consider moving the capital to another city. They didn’t. Only after another earthquake laid the city to rubble in the 1770’s was the capital moved to the valley of current day Guatemala City. The Inca, Maya and Aztecs all had oral histories that described Giants existing that were mostly annihilated in an ancient cataclysm and flood thousands of years previous. Remnants of this giant race were said to have survived and were associated with worldwide megalithic building. Every corner of the globe has inexplicable megalithic stone ruins and equally inexplicable is that myths and legends of giants surround these structures. Just like the ancient stone and earthen structures of America have Native American oral history and thousands of historical documented giant accounts associated with them, the same is to be found worldwide. A reasonable conclusion to draw is that humans of all races were once of un usual stature who lived remarkably long lives. This royal class of giants was possibly kept in place by selective breeding and eventually bred out of existing with only their skeleton remains left in burial mounds and the whispers of their exploits kept alive in oral histories. The world was once populated by enormous life forms of every variety, is it that much of a stretch to believe humans were also a part of this dynamic?
