. . . having a kind of quiet Christmas with Kiki Wampuss and her grown up kitten son. Just went for a brief walk, and the sun is shining, people are walking and riding tinsel-decorated bikes with Santa hats on. It is COLD and breezy, but no snow. The seagulls and crows are squawking and wheeling around Lake Merritt and the wooded park. I have a couple of invitations to coffee, and some neighbors invited me to dinner. Did not really get into Christmas very much this year, but I guess I can get a little more into it. I have some cards to answer. This is not the worst holiday nor the best on record. The worst was about 12 years ago when I had just had a breakup with a girlfriend, and was HOME ALONE with pneumonia. So I looked and found one of the most beautiful Christmas film theme songs online (SOMEWHERE IN MY MEMORY from HOME ALONE) with gorgeous pictures of Quebec, Canada. In January I am going to spend 4 days strolling around with an old girlfriend from high school. She was from Ottawa. I expect that will be somewhat jolly. She is quick witted. She is an empty nester, having raised 6 children, and gotten a divorce from their father. Our romance in high school had been limited to taking walks and holding hands.
