(incf(reasons-to-love-pittsburgh)) Yeah - I miss programming in Lisp :-) Anyways, first I went to the awesome Squirrel Hill farmers market and as always went a wee bit overboard :-) (I already spent most of my afternoon making pesto, zucchini pancakes, a cauliflower gratin and start a strawberry sangria for tonight.) Then I had to get a few things at Whole Foods. On my way back, I came by the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and noticed its the Yart Sale day. Of course I cant drive past that! I managed to park near where Kathy and I had trapped earlier this year, and I saw two of the cats there looking very good. When I walked through Mellon Park, I was greeted by the music to Starwars: it was Bach, Beethoven & Brunch day! I did not have a chair and was on a mission, so I lingered only briefly (but with great joy). At the Yart Sale, I talked to the woman who had made my evil eye bead. She saw me and remembered how she sold it to me! It is a special piece. Next stop is also a story: Earlier this year, during the same trapping project as above mentioned, we were at Animal Friends on a rough day (kittens fading away despite everybodys best efforts). There was a gentleman who brought in a whole cart full of his dog-themed pottery - today, he was at the sale and I was able snag up three cat-themed bowls he had made. Not very practical pieces, but nevertheless totally cool. And I purchased a few nice things at the Glass Center, lots of great finds and lots of wonderful local artists. Such a great event in a beautiful space. When I walked back to my car, I crossed BB&B again. The moment I stepped onto the lawn, they played the Pittsburgh Steelers Polka. Walking slowly through this scene was so special - anyways, the point of this long ramble is I just love that there are all these great things in Pittsburgh!
