#iwearpearlformymom #iwearpearlformyaunt #lcam14 **this is the exact messages I received. With permission, I am sharing them verbatim** I lost my mom to lung cancer last year on 10/13/2013. We took her into the hospital because she wasnt feel well and found out she had stage 4 lung cancer. She never came home-3 weeks later she passed away. We didnt have enough time with her to help her fight this fight but we did have 3 weeks to say our goodbyes and enjoy what little time we had left. I lost her so soon and my life has been forever changed. Before we found out about my mom her only sister had been diagnosed the month before with terminal small cell lung cancer. She never smoked ever. I lost my aunt 5 months later. My mom was British so my sister and I flew to see her in November after moms passing. Sadly in march we went back for her funeral. My uncle had died days before my aunt from prostate cancer and we had a double funeral for them. Just like that cancer took my family. So I will wear pearls for mom and my aunt this month:-) I am also sorry for your loss. July 12th is my bday. I will continue to share this page as I have since I found out about it. Now that I have made it through all of the firsts I plan to be more proactive and get involved in her honor. -Mandy Dearing-Johnson
