*mini blog* So, at home weve been following this seasons of The Voice. Not sure if you have had the chance to watch it, but at this stage of the season the contestants have been introduced to the others, had the opportunity to watch others audition and are being paired with others for their battle-rounds. The contestants were able to see the amount of quality that is out there, that they are competing against. It is very profound to see something that happens to all of us. Especially young people. Lets use the show, right, at the start we met these super talented, nervous singers/ artists. Who, in their own are unbelievably gifted and have the possibility to do something amazing with their gift. Their first challenge was overcoming their own nerves and expectations. Now that they have achieved and overcome their first battle, they are then paired with another incredibly talented individual, but lets not forget that they both are just as good, not just one or the other. As they meet each other, see each others abilities.. most lose perspective of their OWN abilities. They focus on how good their opponent is. They compare themselves to them. You often hear but he/she is so good, this, that... blah blah. (maybe not the blah blah ) My point is that, in life it is so so easy to look at others and see how overly the top incredibly, amazing, like-OMG, someone else is. I see this in kids all the time. And its not right. Lets me get this straight. We should not fear to praise anyone and give them credit for their own abilities. But that doesnt demise our own. Each and everyone of us has the same potential in life, what makes the difference is what we decide to do with it. Remember, dont get upset if someone is good at something. Dont compare yourself to anyone. You, have something amazing that no one else has. Find that, work as hard as you can at it. Reach for the moon, then reach higher. Youll reach YOUR dreams. As mum and dads, dont forget to remind your little ones that no matter how good someone else is at something, they are just as good :)
