...my mom was 14, living in Minden Germany, when they started shipping the jews away. When we talked about that era with her, she always stressed the point of how slowly, almost unnoticed evil takes hold. It was a gradual, crawling, methodical thing. Evil doesnt just happen overnight in a way where you can point out a window one morning and go, HITLER! but it still rolls forward with the ponderous inevitability of a bulldozer covering a trench full of bodies. If I see another Ban the Burqa jpg, first Im going to argue and call you a bunch of names, THEN youre going to make one of those comments that flag you as a real dimwit, one of those they could be hiding anything under there! Im sticking up for the rights of women oversimplified attempts to legitimize your hate. Ill completely lose it, invoke WWII soldiers who died believing we could be a better country than that. You wont understand, because youre a moron eating cheese doodles watching Storage Warz. This nation couldnt wait to throw Japanese Canadians, tax paying citizens born here, into internment camps during the Second World War. Were not perfect. I dont put stupid shit past us...but I was sold an idea that people died so we, at least, tried to stand for something better...even if it costs us sometimes. Im so angry. Okay, Im off this topic.
