#ncwx #scwx #ilmwx #rbcskywarn #ilmskywarn HAM radio operators / trained Skywarn spotters: There is the *potential* need for Skywarn activation Tuesday night across the region. The primary severe weather threats are damaging winds and short-track tornadoes. Skywarn, if needed, will be on 147.045 MHz for Bladen, Columbus, and Robeson counties. I will also take reports here, via regular email, or you can relay reports directly to NWS in the ways outlined in training. It has been a *LONG* time since weve had a Skywarn activation in this area; if you think of it and get a chance, just brush up on the reporting criteria. This will be a typical cool-season event - high-shear/low CAPE. There wont be much in the way of lightning (if any at all), but more convective showers with the potential for the damaging wind gusts, etc.
