#oneMuncie It was a great day of giving at the Unity Center in south Muncie as Guiding Light Church offered thousands of pounds of free food to people before Thanksgiving. William Lee, who guides the effort, had help from plenty of sponsors like Mayor Dennis Tyler, Second Harvest Food Bank, Dollar General, Meijer and others who stepped up to help those in need. Fire Chief Eddie Bell and Deputy Chief Bret Granger helped with the giveaway to make sure no one goes hungry during the holidays. Josh Johnson of Jackson Park Baptist Church also was on hand and said there was great need in the inner city. The Industry neighborhood that once was the manufacturing ground zero of the community with Ball Brothers, Warner Gear, Owens Illinois and Indiana Bridge (to name a few) is now one of the areas in Muncie where people need help. Look for Lee, Johnson and others to repeat this effort around Christmas as many know what giving is about in this community. #oneMuncie
