" para sa First Aid? iText mo si Doc" For the past several days, a listener has been sending me text messages (I permitted Rod Marcelino, my co-anchor in the radio program “Body Works” at RMN DZXL 558 to give my personal mobile phone number if asked by listeners) asking for advice regarding her health condition. She was diagnosed to have breast cancer, advanced stage. The tumor has ulcerated and bleeds every time the dressing is changed. She also has pain on the hips and at the back. She is a widow with no child. She lost her husband who drowned during the flooding caused by the Typhoon Ondoy. She has been going back and forth at the Phil. Gen. Hospital where she was evaluated and had biopsy of the tumor. She was advised to have chemotherapy prior to surgery. However, she was required to have metastatic work up like liver ultrasound and bone scan. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the means for the metastatic work-up and the chemotherapy. She was very thankful that I replied to all her text messages. I know that I am not going to cure her. I was just trying to alleviate her physical and emotional suffering. Just having somebody there to talk to and who listens to your problems means a lot. She is one of the hundreds that my previous radio program, “Body Works”, has served. Hopefully, thousands or millions more, in one way or the other, would be served and benefit from the Text Doc, Call Doc, See Doc health care delivery system program that we hope will succeed. Finally, after five years of planning and hard work, we are launching the first stage of the program. Please endorse & share on your Facebook (I posted it the 1-minute video on my Facebook account) to your friends & relatives ... Our new radio program " para sa First Aid? iText mo si Doc" it will be aired starting July1,2013 on RMN DZXL 558 (Internet: rmnnews/tv) 6:00-7:30 pm., Monday-Friday. Its about common health problems , nutrition for the body and mind & many more. Please help us to make it happen. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Dr. Jim Sanchez
