Most days my housecleaning falls into the family mode---everything is sanitary, the main surfaces are clean, but I ignore the dust bunnies in the corner and the piles of magazines because-hey-its just us. When were busy, our home gets cluttered and disheveled. BUT, when we get the word that company is coming, we shift into high gear, scrub everything top to bottom, crack the whip on the yard care, even draft our kids and grandkids to help. We want it all to look tip-top for our honored guests and loved ones. Our church & school often fall victim to this same fate---sanitary, surface cleaned, but what are a few piles of stuff and coffee stains going to hurt, we are all family here...right??? Well, dear Bethany Lutheran family, heres a heads up...weve got COMPANY COMING!!! Our new teacher is already here, our associate pastor and his family arrive this week, and Vacation Bible School starts the 4th. In a few short days, we are going to have wall-to-wall COMPANY in our building, on our grounds, and mingling with our big, loving Bethany family. Its time to enlist ALL our members to sweep, dust, mow, weed, sort, toss, put away and make our facility shine for the honored guests who will soon be among us. Yes, its summer, and everyone is busy, but this is YOUR church HOME. Come on down this Tuesday at 5:30pm, or this coming Saturday at 8:00am, and lend your hands, muscles, backs and cheerful spirits to the biggest summer cleaning party in years. I guarantee youll enjoy great fellowship and as a bonus, get to check out the progress on the basement and playground! See YOU (yes YOU!) there!!!
