#progress: I should point out that there is a difference in acting and being something and for others these two things mean the same thing: Meaning that some people because they see life in a modern way see life as acting as you live. Meaning that if you were to live you should act as you think. That brings its own problems particularly paranoia: am I acting like I want to be? (Am I acting gay? [as if being gay were a state of being]) Then theres not acting at all-- that you simply live and these two things are the same and inescapable. Meaning that if I walk down the street I was acting and being period. This has a different paranoia that is similiar to, but not the same thing: Am I who I am? (or in contrast to the other statement-- Am I gay?) as if they always were and could never be anything else. Huge difference. One is artificial (in the sense of the word: artifice) thinking and the other is being.
