#randomthoughts_41 Historically, racism has been about White supremacy — the notion that the White race is superior to others, particularly the Black race. In reality, ordinary people perpetuate racism daily. Moreover, racism doesn’t just concern a dominant racial group overtly oppressing Others. Racism comes in forms. There is subtle racism—slight snubs based on race. There is also localised racism wherein lighter-skinned people discriminate against their darker-skinned counterparts of the same culture area. And in the 21st century, there are claims of reverse racism wherein the Blacks or coloured folks oppress the Whites. In all, there is widespread notion that talking about racism makes matters worse.
