@repfleming Sir, as one of millions of Americans using medical marijuana as a result of a serious illness, your comments on marijuana reform yesterday, made without so much as an acknowledgement of the indisputable scientific record supporting the medical use of marijuana were offensive and contribute to the stigma many differently abled Americans like me already face. To say that there is scientific proof marijuana use leads to meth epidemics is beyond irresponsible and flies in the face of the actual data. Sir, millions of Americans, through no fault of our own, no moral shortcoming (including children) and who have exhausted every other option rely on marijuana as a medicine to treat the symptoms of MS, of Cancer, of Parkinsons, of neurological disease like epilepsy. We are suffering sir, we are already stigmatized and the impart of your remarks is that you dont take our suffering seriously. We have it hard enough both fighting our respective conditions and with the stigma we already face - to add to that in a cheap talk radio appearance for the purpose of scoring political points is wrong. We need our Governments help, the full benefit of scientific research unrestricted by politics. Wrong on the science, wrong on the policy, wrong on tone and worse, excellent at contributing to the stigmatization of those of us facing serious disease.
