#russia #interesting #russian_culture Arkhangelsk, the city where our most recently posted Go Teach internship is based, is one of northern Russias largest and oldest cities, officially founded in 1584. It acted as Russias main port before the founding of St Petersburg, and has a long tradition of diversity and and cultural exchange, trading with Scotland, England and the Netherlands, and had many ethnic German and English citizens.
