( story from daily news)A woman is in a Portland hospital and her husband is dead following a shooting at a home west of Longview just after midnight Wednesday morning. According to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, a 10-year-old child called 911 to say his dad had shot his mom at their residence at 244 Niemi Road. Deputies arrived and took the mother and several children out of the house. Chante Marie Milian, 27, of Longview had been shot once in the back. She was taken to St. John Medical Center in Longview and then moved to a Portland hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a sheriff’s press release. She was reportedly in stable condition. Deputies and agents from Lower Columbia SWAT entered the home and found the body of Chantes husband, Miguel Angel Milian, 30, in an upstairs room. A press release from the Sheriffs Office said authorities received a tip that Miguel Angel Milian called a friend and reported that he’d shot his wife and was going to shoot himself. There were three or four children at home at the time. None was injured, and they all were turned over to a relative. Miguel Angel Milian was arrested following a standoff with law enforcement officers at the Niemi Road home July 2. In that incident, a woman at the residence reported that she had been in a physical altercation with Milian. She said Milian was on the front porch, armed with a semi-automatic rifle, and threatened to kill any officers who showed up. Milian eventually surrendered peacefully and was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on allegations of fourth-degree assault.( there making him sound bad).
