#tbt ... the story of how I was blessed with my Maine Coon ... Sammy P. Jammies. I was getting ready for bed and suddenly heard a cat screaming outside. Instinct kicked in and I ran down the stairs in my pajamas, threw open the front door and ran into the dark (which may not have been a brilliant move in the woods of the Pacific Northwest ... ;-) ). I decided to open the garage to get a flashlight and spotted something scurrying along the wall and under my car. I slowly bent down and spotted a perfect little kitten, soggy from the damp grass. He came right to me with the daintiest little meows so I scooped him up and closed the garage door. Having other kitties inside, I decided to set him up with a warm bed in the garage, a makeshift litter box and some warm food and water. I dried him off and tried to tuck him in but he just wanted to be held. I spent most of the night sitting in a lawn chair in my robe in the garage with this little kitten purring on my lap. Needless to say, it was the best sleepless night Ive ever had. The next morning, I took him to be scanned and checked out by our vet. He wasnt chipped and there were no reports of missing kittens. I checked all around the area for signs and there were none. Its amazing how such a wonderful little creature can come into your life when you least expect it. I had always wanted a Maine Coon and never thought I would be lucky enough to have one. I treasure every single day with my (now) HUGE, silly, fluffy friend.
