Check yourself. As the Sun begins to descend in the western sky - the energy from the Sun is being taken from you and you start getting somewhat drowsy. EVE here means that when God walks away. He takes the light with Him but He left light in you. But when your evening comes - meaning the light is diminishing - the strength of truth is diminishing in your mind - then another thought comes up in your mind and against the light...and because its evening (or it is eve or the time of the weakening of TRUTH in your own being) you yield to the other voice.
