#transLivesMatter {} On Monday, Trans Pride will be meeting with members of Texas CURE (Citizens United for Rehabilitation of Errants). We will be talking about how to advise trans persons incarcerated in TDCJ facilities on access to hormones and other medical and personal items, as well as housing classification. Texas CURE was founded in 1972, and the founders went on to head up National CURE and International CURE. The main mission of all CURE Chapters is to work together to achieve Criminal Justice and Prison reform by advocating for local and national proactive legislation. We also received communication today from one of the great folks at Black and Pink (blackandpink.org/), offering to collaborate on future projects. Exciting work. We feel like we are making a difference. And were getting to work with fantastic organizations that understand collaboration and that single-issue advocacy isnt the answer, intersectional work is.
