#treasuresoflife Thursday, 28th August GIVING IS YOUR NATURE “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38) God is the greatest giver there is. The Bible says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” (Jn. 3:16). His love motivated Him to give the greatest gift of all: His precious Son Jesus Christ. It’s God’s nature to give. No wonder the Bible declares that He’s given us ALL things that pertain to life and to godliness (2 Pet. 1:3). God is always excited whenever His children demonstrate His giving nature. By contrast, He detests stinginess and selfishness. The Bible says, “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” (Prov. 11:25). Practice giving big. Refuse to be among those who are only conscious of what they want to receive. You must first be a giver before you can receive. The Bible didn’t say, “Receive, and then give and it shall be given unto you,” rather it says, “Give, then it shall be given unto you good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.” Also, the Bible didn’t say, “God loves a cheerful receiver”; it says, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7). No wonder the Bible declares that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Interestingly, as a giver, you’ll always receive; you cannot ‘not’ receive! You’re made in the image and likeness of God; you’ve been created to function like Him. He is the God of abundance, who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that anyone could ask of Him. He expects you to function like Him, since you have His nature in you. Whenever there’s a call to give, always give your best, as God gave His best by sending Jesus to die and save the whole world from sin. Prayer: Dearest heavenly Father, I thank you for giving your Son and very best, Jesus Christ, for my salvation, and today I’m eternally yours. With a grateful heart I commit myself to giving you my very best at every opportunity you avail me. Thank you dear Lord for the ‘giving grace’ is at work in me mightily, in Jesus Name. Amen.
