#treatyalliance thought.... In all the talk about oil & gas and pipelines, its evident that some of us are still reacting to the whims of someone elses discussion and agenda. We have subjugated ourselves to a line in the popular political narrative of the conservatives and industry. When are we going to start empowering our land warriors and empower the discussions about oil and gas divestment and efforts to make real investment in alternative energy development? Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, offer solutions that do not need to lead to the destruction of our eco-systems. We must tap the untapped potential of our lands in a way that does not destroy lives and lands by trading life for money. A careful balance of the natural elements on the surface of the planet could provide all the energy we need for a thousand more generations. Have we seen investment in alternative energy at the same rate as investment in oil & gas research and technology advancement? I dont think so. Not even close. What about tax incentives and credits to promote growth in the oil & gas sectors? Anyone consider the cost of this on the ability to advance alternative energy solutions in promotion of the protection of the earth? In the winter of 2012, I said that we are the land, we are the water and we will protect ourselves. We have to start thinking about protecting ourselves and the animals from the destruction of unsustainable expansion in fossil fuel developments. This is not going to be an easy process. We will have to become treaty people again, seeing beyond the socially constructed colonial mechanisms of the past 150 years.... If you think there is merit in what Im saying, then you just might be a member of the #treatyalliance.......
