( via lakeisabella.net/lists/?p=subscribe&id=2 ) A return of thunderstorm threat for the mountains and desert Sunday and early next week... A southerly flow is expected to bring a moist and unstable airmass to the mountains and desert... mainly over Kern and southern Tulare counties... by late this weekend. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop by Sunday afternoon and evening. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will continue until Monday evening as the southerly flow will remain over the region... bringing mid and upper level moisture to the area. Any thunderstorms that develop could produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds along with frequent dangerous lightning and hail. Runoff from thunderstorms could cause flash flooding downstream of the storm/S location. Lightning can strike several miles from the storm cell. Be alert to rapidly changing weather conditions... especially if you are outdoors later this weekend. Skywarn spotters should send any reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service. * * * * * * * Tonight Clear, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
