..we have learned that God is not separate from us, is not punishing, and hardly cares about making sure we pump up his Ego... We have ideas like blasphemy because of the old and mistaken notions of hell but even more so of God being stern, fatherly, and punishing. We have notions of sin because of both of those. And we talk about fear of God as somehow being a good thing. Well, all of that is wrong. As we now know. And in with those things that are legacies from those wrong, and unfortunately tragic, ideas is the idea of blasphemy. As we found out, God is bigger than we thought. Loving. All-Merciful. And God hardly cares about things like sins and blasphemy. Because it is not like God is some insecure childish king demanding nobody say anything disrespectful about Him. So, in fact, we can refer to him as funny, even. And to motives for existence that include fun, adventure, magnificence, and such. Interest, maybe. Who knows, maybe challenge? We used to say that God did things for His own glory … that he manifested in form to glorify Himself in creation. But that is a lame word — glory. It’s like peasants giving the reasons for what kings do. Peasants who, thinking of royalty as being almost different beings from them, higher ones, don’t understand what their motives really are … especially when those rulers are being capricious and needlessly harmful, murderous … but they feel they’d better suck up to “the man.” It’s a nice sounding and flattering word that doesn’t really mean anything and can be applied to cover everything. ...with this new understanding we are being brought back into the fold of God. Like we were prodigal humans, thinking we were separate and alone, and now we are being embraced again by the Universe and being told that we are daughters and sons of it … of the same substance. ...we have learned that God is not separate from us, is not punishing, and hardly cares about making sure we pump up his Ego with trying to not say bad things about Her/Him or being sure we worship Her/Him in the right way, and such. ...the closer we get to Truth, the closer we get to God. God is what is, and illusions or feel-good untruths actually cover Him, Her up.
