#whatYouMightHaveMissed #IMPEACHED Embu Governor Martin Wambora has vowed to continue working as a governor, the Senate verdict against him notwithstanding. Wambora told Citizen TV yesterday that he is supporting an ongoing collection of signatures to appeal to President Uhuru to dissolve the Embu county assembly and call for fresh elections. He said he does not draw his mandate from either the Senate or Embu county assembly. Wambora said if elections are held pursuant to the illegal Senate impeachment process, he would snub it. He said he is the validly elected and popular governor of Embu. “Yes, of course I am working, he said on being asked whether he is still in office. The Senate and county assembly did not elect me. I draw my mandate from the people of Embu who elected me. Wambora said he has been working with MCAs long after they impeached him. “Just last week I was launching a bursary programme with the MCAs. They were even calling me your excellency. Work must be done and I will do it,” he said. Wambora said he may have been slow in politically dealing with the problem. “I am more of a manager and less of a politician. Its unfortunate I did not play a huge role in nominations,” he said. Wambora said that when he discovered fraud of payment of non-existent ward officers, the MCAs descended on him with malice. He said despite all the going ons in Embu, his popularity has soared and he would easily win back the seat. Wambora said Senate was politically biased and that is why he did not honor them with his appearance. #star
