...where we see waste, where we see things not working the way they should, like recently these long waits for folks trying to get into the VA health care program, we gotta crack down and we gotta reform it. But we cant paint with a broad brush and say somehow stuffs not working because, even in the VA health care system, once people get in, the quality of care, the satisfaction rates for customers are actually better than in private sector health care. So we cant generalize like this. President Barack Obama speaking at Minnehaha Falls, Minneapolis, MN on 6/26/14. He conveniently forgot that veterans who have died were already enrolled in the VA health care program. He also ignored those veterans who have waited long times for specialty clinic appointments. Those veterans are already enrolled as well. This is not to say that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs does not have good health care professionals working at their medical facilities. We all know at least one good doctor or other medical professional. Unfortunately, the moral rot has infected VA to such a degree that only a broad brush will get rid of it. Im still waiting for The White House to start listening directly to #veterans who are receiving care from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in unplanned and unscripted exchanges. Mr. President, Im here in the Twin Cities. I live about 15 minutes from Bloomington where youll be staying tonight at the Hilton. Id love to talk with you about the lackluster care that veterans receive, especially here at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Heres the video.
