#yesallwomen Ive had male strangers and friends accidentally bump/touch my breasts ever since they first appeared when I was 11. I know that many were true accidents but I also know that more were not. In middle school, I was trapped in the girls locker room because some of the girls wanted to see if I was stuffing my bra. Because of those instances, I wear baggy shirts to hide my breasts. Ive been told that I would get better jobs if I wore makeup, and showed off my breasts. Ive been told that my only purpose in life is to please men, and one of those times, the man was grabbing his crotch trying to corner me (I was 16). Im very lucky that Ive never been seriously assaulted or raped. But many women, and some men, are not that lucky. Unfortunately, Ive always just brushed these things off telling my self that its normal. It is time to change what is normal. It is time for everyone to stand up and say that it isnt acceptable. It is time to teach boys and girls the proper respect for themselves and each other. Talk to the young people in your life, your own children, nieces/nephews, God children, grand children, children of your friends, and friends of your children. It doesnt matter the age. Change starts at home.
