The Asian Conference on Society, Education and Technology 2015 invites educators and policy makers from around the world to look at the latest trends and issues in technology policy and practice and its role in the private and public sphere. ACSET is a conference about change and transformation, and the conference theme of Power and Empowerment: Transcending Boundaries looks at how technology can transform and change systems and whole societies, whilst it is itself in a state of continuous transformation and change. Harnessed in the right way, it can empower individuals to achieve great things, and make the world a better place, but also raises many worrying ethical questions, including those concerning privacy and surveillance. We hope and expect the 2015 conference theme to inspire a number of research avenues, and look forward to discussing ideas, findings and synergies, in this International Academic Forum. The organizers encourage submissions that approach this theme from a variety of perspectives. However, the submission of other topics for consideration is welcome and we also encourage sessions within and across a variety of interdisciplinary and theoretical perspectives. Submissions are organized into the following thematic streams: Technology and society: the social and societal impact and implications of technology Technology and society: technologies, societies and communities Education and technology: teaching, learning, technology and education support Education, technology and society: technologies, knowledge creation and access Technology and society: computers, technology and society: it delivery Technology and society: ict and security: questions of privacy, governance and trust Technology and society: green computing: ict, sustainability, energy and the environment
